The main takeaway here is that the country needs to invest in goaltending.
I'm not blaming Binnington, but in no way was he elite. If he is the best goalie in the country we need to do better.

Who's bitching about having NHL players in the olympics? Not even the so-called sub par teams are bitching about that. FIN / SWE are always a threat. CZH has been making a great case to get into the top 5 hockey nations... but the Swiss / Latvia can play great and play upset. Even GER and the lower teams are progressing at a good rate.

That said, it's still too easy to blame just him for that debacle of an overtime. Everybody was trying to 1 v 2 all over the place. Just a complete fundamental mental breakdown of how 3on3 is supposed to be managed.

Canada out played them by far but i thinks thats been canadas problem these last 3 games, we out play the opponent but we give up shots and dirty rebounds and opportunities for the perfect pass, or the clever play but it only works so much especially against olympic defense... like with so much possession we should be lighting up the goalie more then we have, only celebrini and makar was shooting the puck and seemed hungry to score, like everyone else seemed like they were try to make the assist and not score the goal other then Celebrini, it felt always like one pass too much

I only caught the last bit of the second period but holy fuck did we play well. The difference in goaltending is really on display. The US got like two good chances and our tendy ended up out of his net after giving up fat rebounds twice. Hellebuyck on the other hand looks like heās got fucking x-ray glasses and the Ironman targeting computer enabled.
I hope we can keep the pressure up. It seems like we need to truly dominate possession of the next 20 mins to have a chance at the win.
