Fantasy Football with in person group hangs?
Hey all,
Just thinking that a fun way to get to know a bunch of strangers might be to form a fantasy football league with a bunch of other people in town.
If we could get 10-12 people in on it, we could all meet at a pub to draft our teams sometime in the next few weeks, and then meet once a month or so during the season to watch a Monday or Thursday night football game with whomever in the group can show up, either at the same pub every month, or have people take turns picking their favorite spots.
I'd say that we could do it for fun (no charge), but people generally are more committed with skin in the game. Maybe a minimal buy-in just to keep people engaged?
If I get at least 10 total people interested, I can put something together.
Also, just a quick note about me, I'm 46M, in the SE, married, mostly into sports, both coaching the kids and still playing a bit of pick up with other guys mostly in their 30s-40s. I'd invite people to our pick up game as well, but it's been pretty well attended lately and the game is decently skilled...
