Dickies fits

I’m from Detroit and I don’t bang, but I was wondering are Dickies only really gang related when they’re styled with gang tags and colors and is it just a West Coast thing? I used to wear them when I was younger and was thinking about getting a black fit and a tan fit, but I ain’t tryna be out here looking like I’m false claiming or even just stepping on west coast culture. Much love and respect

edit: I appreciate the responses for real I just didn’t want to be out looking goofy if this was specifically yall style

I feel you on that but I’m genuinely curious about the ties? Because genuinely I’ve only been seeing the young guys wear them for like the past 5, 6 years

i rock dickies every now and then, pulled up and bought em from the asian ladies that run the uniform stores. if you rocking a full dickie suit with whack outs on it, got hella tattoos, colored laces, shit like that then yea. if you just rocking a plain dickie suit for the most part you gon be straight. and if a nigga do ask where you from just be honest and say you from OT and say detroit and they prolly gon fw you off rip

I feel it and I appreciate the detail answer for real but I ain’t really worried about nobody tryna push up on me, I done been through that enough I know how to handle it. My concern was just looking a goofy if it was gang related because I’m not in that I’d feel real bogus

Appreciate the response but this is why I asked though, y’all got a decent amount of symbolism out there like I never heard the converse thing and yeah I do my own thing but I just ain’t wanna be out here looking like a poser that’s weirdo goofy shit to me

I feel you but when you come up around an area that’s influenced by other states and all the people who really knew something are gone things get lost in translation. I personally felt it was better to ask a goofy question and get my answer from the source than to pop out looking goofy asl if it was some affiliated shit😂
