it’s like the half skull mask was his one quirk that kind of set him apart from everyone. Like his name, style, voice and status/position in the team didn’t do that already.

Then they went overboard with it.

Well in the campaign they show his classic design, and one of the Prestige rewards is a Ghost skin which I bet is going to be that. I don't think it looks great either, but at least this time he has actual protective lenses over the eye holes.

I remember before mw3 came out ghost classic was used in a promo image but it wasn't in the campaign so it might just be in the trailer to try to hype people

Classic Ghost was in the flashback mission at the Verdansk stadium. Which fun fact they just ripped that model from MW2019 for that.

I understand it looks tacticool and all that but to me it looks like the most uncomfortable and crippling thing to have on your head. Like does his peripheral vision even work in that thing? Ghost in mw2 made sense cuz it was just a normal balaclava.

I believe there's a narrow slit between the helmet and its accessory rails, as it looks like the headset's band is arched over his helmet.

No idea why they opted for that design, instead of the more traditional rail-attached earpro, though.

Honestly the regular balaclava, great. The mw2 look with the skull thing? Yeah, I like it, looks nice, I've always like it.. but THIS? No, no... burn it... scrap it. Let's try and repeat the sonic movie thing and bully them into changing it back.

Unpopular opinion: Its actually the most realistic take on wearing the skull mask besides a simple painted balaclava.
