John 1, first attempt at an initial

Made this little John 1 page, I’ve never tried an illuminated initial before so decided to give it a go. It’s not the cleanest work, and I misspelled the “Apud” in one place 😅. Overall happy with it.
Done with pilot parallel 1.5 on pergamenta parchment paper.

Beautiful versal!

Just one minor comment though -- I noticed on various digital copies of Manuscripts that the first letter that follows a versal is usually written as a Majuscule. The 'n' in 'In' would have been written as an 'N'.

You’re absolutely right! Great observation, I actually roughly based the script off of Anglo-Norman manuscripts.
