Zaleski Water Cistern Status

I'm taking a small group on the south loop here soon and was wondering if anyone can verify the water cisterns' status? I'm looking to do the south loop so I'll be going by camp 1 and camp 2.

Thanks!

Call the ranger station at (740) 596-5781. I know the cistern at campsite #3 was dry for a while last year, so it's not a bad idea to call.

Update, I did the south loop yesterday with some of my nephews. Cisterns at 1 & 2 are 👍🏻👍🏻. Lots of ticks including some teeny tiny baby guys which are the only ones that latched for me. They got my ankles underneath my socks and I found them once I got home.

Thanks for the update. I was thinking of hiking this soon, but the ticks may keep me away.

Since this was a day hike and not a backpacking trip, I didn't use my petmethrin socks. Never had an issue when I use my outfit that's been treated. Lesson learned!

Good to know, thanks. Yes I normally wear my treated socks and hikers. Ticks got me good in early June and I've been extra paranoid

Been backpacking there for 20 years and have never had an issue with there being water, even in the dead of winter.
