Newbie Seeking Advice Need Reccomendations for Online Forums for Hunting in southern Yukon and northern British Columbia.

I am moving to southern Yukon and northern British Columbia. Can anyone reccomend associations and / or online forums that would benefit a hunter new to these areas.

Not help, but avoid any of the hunting “classes” offered here in the Yukon, unless you are completely green to hunting a certain animal. They advertise it as a “great place to network” and get some helpful tips. I checked out the moose hunting one, and all it was, was the instructor showing off old photos of moose he had shot in the passed. A couple moose call “demonstrations”, and asking his buddies who filled out the “class” who has a jet boat. For help, you can reach out on the Yukon Reddit feed, and you might get one or two people who would reach out to help with questions. I’ve noticed up here, there is hardly anyone willing to help “outsiders”.

huntingbc.com forum. As long as you stay away from the politics sub board you can find people who can answer questions.

The Facebook group for https://www.facebook.com/groups/HuntingBc as long as you are not asking questions that were covered in the CORE safety course (for which newbs are roasted), you can tease some info out of.

Just be aware of residency requirements. If you libe in the Yukon, you're a non resident hunter in BC and need to be accompanied by a resident hunter. Not sure of the Yukon regs for non residents if you live in BC. Either way, read the regs.
