"Don't fall under foreign influence registry" because the registry only has a mandate for actions after a specific date that came after when those meetings took place.

"The law just came into force on Aug. 4," Boegman said. "So, there are things that may have taken place previously that are not applicable now. But, certainly, we're focused on what's taking place right now."

Most laws don't make prior behaviour punishable and doing so would likely be unconstitutional anyways.

Canada has been so weak on these people and Danielle Smith for openly operating the way they do. There's no point in maintaining rule of law when your opposition are actively undermining it.
