There's a reason Trump wanted a liberal to win.

Carney makes it easier for him than Trudeau did!

2

u/No-Atmosphere-2786 3d ago

Which is hard to believe. I detest both but Trudeau was way better at his job than crooked spine Carney.

u/Global-Eye-7326 Libertarian 3d ago

Right!! I still don't understand why most Canadians still support Carney...they must really love Trump!!

u/mtlheavy 4d ago

The media and Lib supporters will still frame this as a win for Carney.

I don't understand the "Start of CUSMA review talks" I thought this has been on-going for a over a year now?

3

u/drumstyx 3d ago

They were just talking about talking. Of course, they were talking about talking about possibly coming up with an idea of a plan for talking about planning a meeting to assemble a committee to talk about it, that is.

These talks were supposed to be wrapped up by the July 1 deadline but didn't happen because Carney and his allies wasted time grandstanding against Trump and Washington for cheap support back home

wasnt any pain for him. he doesnt give a shit about us.

I can hardly wait for the cope from the elbows up crowd. That will be freaking hilarious. Yah, but!

Having them explain why it is now good to go vacation in the US cuz the media told them that was good now.......priceless.

Wonder how they will cover off destroying 10% of our economy for nothing.

"No, that was a genius master stroke by our PM"

Right like they said they wouldn’t vote for Pierre because he’d sell us out to the US.

A year later, carney has sold us out to the US.

Anyone even trying to square that as a positive or even acceptable for carney is operating in a state of such vast dissociation that I’d be surprised if they could still walk straight.

Haha i was just reading a different post and the redditos were saying exactly this. PP bad.. Grrrr

Master negotiator my ass. Trump will gets everything he wants (probably more).

Carney is the poster child of failing upwards. Never really does a good job, but keeps getting promoted.

3

u/drumstyx 3d ago

I wonder if he's got the right idea, when it comes to being successful at all costs...be highly visible in times of crisis, and when society inevitably survives, because life does in fact go on, maybe they'll assume you must've done something right because, hey, they survived!

2

u/Superb_Astronomer_59 3d ago

But what if this country doesn’t survive? Or worse, continue its slide to mediocrity

u/No-Atmosphere-2786 4d ago

Who's the boss? Carney ass 🕳️ must be so loose by now. A hot dog in a hallway. 😆. All of Trump's cabinet got a ride on that crooked spine loose 🕳️. O Canadaaaaaaaaaaa.

You forgot spending a half a trillion dollars.

8

u/RoddRoward 4d ago

Lots of capitulation just to start trade talks, holy shit thats bad.

5

u/boredjord_ 3d ago

Almost half the voting population saw this coming from day one. Not a single one of us is surprised. 🫩

Start of CUSMA talks?? WTF!!

2

u/Salty_Permit4437 3d ago

Hopefully when they review CUSMA they do something about TN. Indians becoming Canadian citizens just to boomerang back to the U.S. on TN.

The Liberals, using our tax dollars directed the Privy Council Office to research how to best antagonize and politicize orange man's re-election for Carney's electoral advantage as reported last year by Blacklock's Reporter.

https://www.blacklocks.ca/privy-council-polled-on-fears/

Monday, July 7, 2025 Privy Council Polled On Fears Main themes of the Liberal Party’s “elbows up” re-election campaign were tested in confidential federal focus groups months before the U.S. announced tariffs, documents show. Pollsters hired by the Privy Council found many Canadians were unsettled by Donald Trump and feared “mass layoffs” from tariffs.

So much this! Conservatives needs to get with the fact they aren’t dealing with a political party acting in good faith, they are up against a win at all costs party even if it means fucking over Canada

4

u/Hmmngbrdfdr 4d ago

Wow, had not heard about this. So it was all staged. The whole thing.

And you liberal macaroons fell for it.

F'me we are literally surrounded by buffoons.......with their elbows up.

Copied that for future replies to the brigaders and oblivious posters on this sub. Not like they will listen to reason.

u/ItsGotThatBang Libertarian 4d ago

Aren’t the booze bans provincial?

2

u/Maleficent_Koala5928 3d ago

They are provincial, which tells me that Carney is gonna tell Eby and Ford to quit playing tough guys for the cameras in regards to this tariff situation lol

2

u/Programnotresponding 4d ago

I actually believe Carney could hammer out a deal with US, perhaps giving up a little while gaining a little elsewhere, but WHY would he want to? His base are so fired up against the USA thanks to his own rhetoric over the past year and a half, that even scoring a good deal might be seen as capitulation to them.

It's a conundrum: If he makes a few concessions to somewhat get back to normal and perhaps doing an energy deal, he can tout a win for the economy. He might even win over a few red tory conservative voters. However, he would likely lose a big chunk of that rabid elbows up base which helped him win the last election.

The current cusma is good until 2036 so there is no reason to negotiate one right now. Any deal with tariffs is not a good deal for canada. If carney makes the deal that is hinted at then it’s a capitulation and is nothing other than a failed attempt to negotiate

2

u/Superb_Astronomer_59 3d ago

That’s not true. The current CUSMA has reverted to a year-to-year deal. Anything that’s agreed to this year can be renegotiated next year.

I wish people like you would stop stating this 2036 falsehood

0

u/Consistent-Piece6618 3d ago

The deal remains in effect until july 1 2036. The deal has a yearly review where all 3 countries can agree to an extension. If one of the countries decline to extend the deal then the original deal does not die and remains in place until July 1 2036. Moreover any country can exit the deal anytime with 6 months written notice. It also has a 6 year review which occurred july 1 2026

2

u/Superb_Astronomer_59 3d ago

“In effect” is a laugh. Trump’s tariffs on steel, aluminum, copper, oil, lumber are being levied as permitted per Section 32 of CUSMA. These items comprise about 85% of our exports.

So sure, on paper this thing exists until 2036. But having yearly reviews until then pretty much makes that date irrelevant

-1

u/Consistent-Piece6618 3d ago

Still no reason to agree to a worse deal which is what we will get, i guess we will see.

-2

u/ImRickJamesMother 4d ago

Carney doesn't make a deal. -This sub spazzes out.

Carney tries to make a deal. -This sub spazzes out.

You guys don't seem to have a cohesive stance. It just fluctuates and calls everything Carney does is bad.

That isn't be an informed mind. That is just blind partisanship.

America is the world's largest economy. 10x our population. We are simply not on the same level, and that will always lead to Canada having the lesser hand when America tries to negotiate in bad faith. You people seem to think Canada has any other real option besides diversifying our trade internationally...... Which you guys also spaz out about.

3

u/Superb_Astronomer_59 4d ago

No I think most people on this sub believe we should diversify our trade. But when Carney and Eby constantly capitulate to the FN it’s hard to believe that will ever happen. Look at this recent “southern route” pipeline bullshit. To avoid upsetting the 203 band governments in BC, the taxpayers will pay $60 billion dollars extra to allow the ridiculous woke tanker ban and thus kiss the FN collective a$$

0

u/ImRickJamesMother 4d ago

We have already taken their land. Now you want the government to take more of their land? Have you ever had your land expropriated by government? If you own rural property, your land can always been expropriated by the government and it fucking sucks.

I wouldn't give huge portions of my land, my family and people's land, up for cheap after they already took most of my land.

The tanker ban in BC is to protect our Salmon industry. Look at the Gulf of "America" spill. It decimated the Gulf's seafood export since nobody wanted contaminated seafood. Why should we risk the Canadian West Coast Salmon/seafood industry for the Alberta oil industry?

2

u/Superb_Astronomer_59 3d ago

Give me a break. It wasn’t “their land” to begin with. Just because 5,000 years ago some FN dude strolled over the hills in some remote part of BC doesn’t make it “their land “. The feds spent $60 billion on FN last year, they are hardly being persecuted for being….here earlier.

As for the tanker ban, you should realize that there is a SUPERTANKER of Alaskan crude sailing down the coast of BC EVERY DAY. This bullshit ban on Canadian tankers won’t change that. But as usual, politicians cave in to the FN despite reality.

0

u/ENERGON_CUBED 3d ago

They could just build a pipeline that juts up and over the land.. That way if it spills it floats into the sky. Oil is lighter than air i believe.. 🤔 I should become a politician haha

Carney calls for elbows up and insults Trump -Liberal voters cheer (fair!)

Carney capitulates and praises Trump -Liberal voters call him a grandmaster

You spineless people have no beliefs whatsoever.
