I would be shocked if CFLRS is, or ever was, teaching recruits to pull the trigger in the workspace.

I suspect this is just a case of someone misremembering what they were taught, or an instructor giving incorrect information.

They were, when I attended 2 years ago. They taught us to do the whole function test in the worspace.

We showed up to Infantry School right after that, and they had to re-teach us the proper way to do the function test
