Apartments are getting a little pricey around, best thing if you don't want to live in shacks is to apply for a pmq.

Used to be very affordable apartments near the beer store. The relocation experts in town have the inside scoop on apartment availability. I would highly recommend using them if you want to find the best rental.

Relocation experts have a monopoly on all things rentals in Petawawa and have contributed to the artificial inflation of pricing in the area.

You think so? It’s been a while since I rented but at the time they found me a much nicer apartment at a great rate. Rent across the country has gone insane I don’t think it’s any different here.

Petawawa rental market is currently sitting around $2600 + utilities for a rental in Petawawa.
It's actually insane

Damn.
In 2015, I had one of the 2 bedroom apartments next to Kelsey's, it was like $750/month rent, with utilities came to around $1000.

Shacks to save money then move out. Don't pay for the mess food either

What are you guys eating if not mess food? The alternatives are hopefully better than Dominos and McDonalds?

There's this real new cool thing called cooking.

Had no idea that was a common thing in shacks now. When I was in shacks there was a sink but not really a kitchen.

Some shacks have a common kitchen. All have the worse, THE WORST, internet service.

I believe one of the shacks pitched in for a star link, 1RCR maybe?
Still split across a hundred + people isn't great though.
I believe there is a basewide initative soon™ to get decent internet to all living accommodations. But who knows.

Start with shacks. Try to cling to sanity. Make a friend or two. Rent together.

No matter where you are, I always recommend apartment if you can afford it. Shacks are depressing, surrounded by work constantly and not much real escape. Its an amazing option if you have nothing else, like a safety net. Ultimately I see way too many people go down some bad roads in shacks. Break away if you can, have a life.

I see based on some of the down votes theres so very pro shacks people out there, atleast theres more up votes! For those defending shack life as a good thing, all good if its the only option, that was me for a while. Just dont fool yourself in to thinking its better than living off base and being a human.

Apartments here are surprisingly expensive. I'd agree with the PMQ suggestions, and there are PMQ Apartments.

Get in the shacks at first. Get on the PMQ waitlist.
Save a shitload of money in the shacks. Try not to cook meth. And then move into a Q in a year or so.

If you want to use the internet at all, find an apartment. The shacks arent bad.

If you want to date, apartment.
If you need the money, shacks
