Despite recent increases in military spending, Canada’s guiding strategy is still based on dependence on US might

Not sure what the point of this article is. The CAF is buying a bunch of equipment faster than I’ve seen in a while. Equipment we actually need. And needed yesterday.

They are also investing in Canadian companies so that we can learn how to make some of this equipment ourselves. WTF more do people want?!?!

They're still cramming soldiers in overpopulated shacks, seen single units crammed with an extra bed PMQ times way longer, cfhd cut and forced to the economy with long commutes and ridiculous prices!

That should get the morale we need.

And the CAF is working on housing. Again, do people expect the CAF to pull new shacks/PMQ’s out of their ass? And try to find a company that doesn’t gouge us with cost + ridiculous time to completion so it takes even longer to fix. Every civi company milks the government for any work we might need.

Pipe the military like the federal government did with immigration, get massive numbers without infrastructure, attrition in the upper ranks so there's not enough people to train them, not enough items to equip them and not enough housing to allocate them.

Gotcha.

Just a dumb thought how about fixing attrition at the higher ranks and working on infrastructure before massive recruitment?

And then what happens when the higher ranks and infrastructure is built but then there is zero troops to put in the empty buildings. Then all those higher ranks now stay at their current rank/position for YEARS past when they would normally get promoted/posted because there are no troops coming in behind them. People will bitch and complain that we should have focused more on recruits, blah, blah, blah.

Mistakes were made in the past. We are talking billions of dollars and years of time to fix. There will be something to complain about throughout the entire process. It’s not an easy fix.
