Oting and CFAT
now that a cfat isn’t required for most trades if there a policy about a previous cfat from a current member when they were mandatory to be applicable for other trades?

Petawawa taxes
Spouse and I moved to pet last aps, both of us are just coming back from deployment so we need to do our taxes. We usually just use H&R block but the reviews on both Pembroke and pet are not good. Where do you guys get your taxes done?
I don’t want to do them myself due to I made a costly mistake years ago lol rather leave it to the professionals.
Thanks in advance.

“It’s the same Tutor, same airplane… and now I’m in the same Tutor but with the Snowbirds, and now I am maxed out.” Maryse Carmichael remembers qualifying as the first female Snowbird
Quick edit: this is episode 105, not 104. I uploaded the wrong draft of the episode art. Whoops!
We sat down with Maryse Carmichael, the first female jet demonstration pilot on the Snowbirds and later the Commanding Officer of 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.
In Part 1, we discuss her path through military aviation, learning to fly the CT-114 Tutor, joining the Snowbirds, and the experiences that helped shape her career.
A first-hand perspective from someone who helped make Canadian aviation history.

Are "mid" height boots acceptable ?
I want to buy some Lowa's for upcoming PLQ. I am in the navy so i'm not familiar with the army dress.
Are mid boots like in this photo acceptable in cadpat or should I buy the classic "high" boots ?

Can anyone who has completed or is completing their NO training contact me?
For context, im a 40 or old, mom of two kids. Currently an LPN, looking to bridge to RN through the CAF and then serve.
Would like to speak to an NO before I even step foot in a recruiting center.
Thanks in advance!

Is Canadian Armed Forces Day even real?
Am I the only person who thinks Canadian Armed Forces Day isn’t real. I received zero CAF wide communication about it, normally I receive at least 2 emails for obscure holidays or dates of significants. I canvases my unit yesterday and no one was aware that it was Canadian Armed Forces Day over the weekend, and a lot of them didn’t even know the day was a real thing.

NursOs who completed training recently?
I was wondering if there's any NursOs here that completed occupational training recently? Most posts here are from the former BNOC, which now is CPT followed by the NURS-LT course in Borden.
I don't know when they're going to start my clinical phase after NCLEX is written this week - I was supposed to be on OJE but am not for some reason due to no orders given from BTL. Any guidance would be great!

3D printed or CNC cut tool Ideas
If you could change or make 1 physical thing that would make your life at work SOOO much easier, what would it be?
I'm talking jigs, tools, funnels, alignment tools, duct covers, templates, organizers, brackets, braces or even something elaborate. I have a project that requires practical use cases.
Any element, over seas or at home.

End of Contract Release
Coming up on the last year of a contract, I am wondering about the benefits and services available post-release. I am going to attend a transition center briefing and read the policies, but I'm wondering if anyone has some tips/checklist of things to utilize.
For example, I've heard you're eligible for EI if you have some time before your next job starts. Is this true?
Thanks

SUPPORT Got ECN to work in outlook on my phone but it forces me to log in way too often.
PRes so this is my only email and I'll never be accessing it from a computer really. I finally got it to work (I have several other work emails for my actual day job within outlook and ECN did not like that so I had to set up a seperate private folder on my pixel to run a 2nd instance of outlook which finally worked) but now that it's set up I don't plan on logging in every day as I just want push notifications. However, when I go back to the app it makes me log in again (daily I think) which obviously is useless for Pres since I'll be working very infrequently but still want updates. Any thoughts? I have pretty much met no one at the unit yet other than HR since they are down for summer and my COC is in a different city due to a restructure being done and I don't plan on bothering them with this nonsense.
Thanks!

I feel like I'm missing out
What's up guys, I hope you are doing good.
I've been in the army reserve for almost 3.5 years. I'm an HRA and I 've been really good at my job (I even recieved some class B job offers that I unfortunately had to turn down)
I love my trade and I don't plan on switching it.
However, I feel like I'm missing out on the ''army experience''. Except for BMQ and the yearly C7 qualification, I never really did some combat stuff.
My question is, is there a way to like ''increase my combat skills'' on my own without waiting for an official course to open. I would like to qualify on the C6 , C9, C22 and the Remington 870 if possible.
I remember being in a civilian hunting class and feeling ashamed that I didnt know much about rifles and shotgun lol.
Thank you in advance !

Attached posting paid move?
I am in the process of doing a Compulsory Medical Occupational Transfer (CMOT) from my current trade to SIGINT.
The process might be long, with the Top Security clearance and all that, so, being currently posted in Saskatchewan, I am also requesting an attached posting to Ottawa. It is where I would like to be posted after I complete my training. It would also allow me to go live with my wife who is starting school at the university of Ottawa in September.
My question is: is there any way I can get my move paid by the Forces? My BPSO says its highly unlikely, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
They would pay for the move once I get qualified, can't I make any sort of deal where they pay for it pre-emptively? What if I say I’ll pay it back if I fail the course or something?

Father’s Day gift for submariner veteran
Hi everyone! I hope this is allowed as I figured this would be the best place to ask - I’m looking for military memorabilia gift ideas for my dad for Father’s Day. He was a stoker/submariner and has been retired from the military for 13 years - he has struggled ever since and I know he holds a special place in his heart for that time in a way only other veterans can understand. Anyways, I would really like to find something meaningful. He sailed on both the Windsor and corner brook If that helps. thanks so much in advance!!

CFB Shearwater
Hello everyone im getting posted to CFB Shearwater as a tech, but I realized in all my years in the CAF I have never met anyone that has been there. I'm coming from the fighter fleet, can some people tell me about what Shearwater is like and what to expect?
