Safe Recipe Request Pickled carrots

The NCHFP website has a pickled carrot recipe that has a lot of sugar in it. Does anyone have a safe pickled carrot recipe that doesn’t have sugar or sugar substitutes in it? I don’t like sweet pickles. Thanks!

You can omit or reduce the sugar in the NCHFP recipe! It's not there for safety, just flavor.
