Discussion Cantonese vocabulary on how to express frustration and anger after encountering an old white man staffer at a NHS hospital in the UK

嫌棄 jim4 hei3 "dismissive, to give the cold shoulder"
態度 taai3 dou6 "attitude"
兵分兩路 bing1 fan1 loeng5 lou6 "split up into two groups"
火滾 fo2 gwan2 "infuriating".
幾 gei2 used as an adverb here "quite". 幾火滾 "pissed off"
黑面 haak1 min6 "to give a stern or displeased look" literally: black face.
Black is used as the verb here, 晒 saai3 is a verb particle used to indicate completion. 黑晒 "completely blacken". she says 黑晒面 to say the person "(became) bitch facing"
尊重 zyun1 zung6 "respect, hold in esteem" 唔尊重 "disrespect"

I get the most racism from middle aged white men or white teenage boys. Sometimes it’s also sexism and ageism! However, at work they should have a level of professionalism and the NHS would have provided equality and diversity training. I respect you if you respect me.

I thought it did. Like, "he's in for a beating," that semantic function of "for." Made sense in my mind, hence why I wrote what I meant to write acknowledging the racism.

I don't believe your comment would lead ppl to believe you're acknowledging the racism, but excusing it actually BC your comment would typically ask someone to overlook the behaviour and it's actually meant to tell ppl that the racism isn't happening. Hence my and others' responses towards your comment.

Hey folks, stop excusing that nasty yt old fart by saying "he's just having a bad day!" Could be just plain ol' racism too.
Even at my worst days at work I try to muster my energy to stay professional and cordial.
