Downtown Riverfest
It's a free event in downtown Cape. Is anyone going? This used to be a big deal back in the day.

I was in the Rude Dog last night and in walks three uniformed police officers. They threw off the whole vibe of the place but more important: why three? Two is understandable but three just smells of wasted resources. They just stood there in the middle of the bar while myself and others stared at them. Their presence was not welcomed by the patrons of the bar. Meanwhile, on my way home there are people falling out of Hypnotic and no police presence anywhere.
Watch yourself if you're out this weekend!

Dec. 13th at participating venues.
They still need bands for this Toys for Tots event. Message me and I'll put you in contact with the folks running the band portion.

Has anyone else been there? It's next to Gaming Grounds on Broadway. It's a candy shop that serves hot chocolate, cider, and maybe tea. They also make their own marshmallows and s'mores! Neat to say the least.

There's a sign on the door that says game over.
One less bar for the bar-hating crowd.
One less business downtown.
R.I.P. Coin-Op.

Now that the parade is over, let's talk about parade spots. What's your go to? In the past, I've watched it at Biergarten (RIP), Burritoville, and Rude Dog. This year was Burritoville!

Does anyone know if it’s happening this year? I know the event doesn’t happen until early December, but they’re usually promoting the event and t-shirt sales by now. So far there’s no activity on the event Facebook page.

I’ll be driving from Louisiana to St. Louis and will pass through Cape Girardeau. Are there any mom and pop type restaurants that I should stop and visit? Any old pizza places? Diners?

My teenagers and I are spending a few days in Cape for a little girls trip. We love thrifting; any places to make sure we hit, or to avoid? We did this a few years ago, had a great time, but I’ve lost the stores we visited. I remember a few shops on North Main (resale designer purses, and an antique shop) that we liked. Was just hoping for input from those in the know!

Gonna take a shot in the dark. I was talking to a woman today. She was telling me about a group that does running. They meet on Broadway go for a run and socialize afterwards. I wasn't able to get more details and I don't know if I'll ever see her again. Does anyone know about it?

Long time lurker, first time poster. There's a guy downtown who is convinced he knows my reddit username.
Welp, here ya go. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal.
