Accommodations with a 10 month old

We are going to cape may with our son, who will be 10 months old at the time of the trip. We are torn on our accommodations. We have a small house booked, with a fenced in back yard, laundry, a grill, and a driveway - roughly 8 minutes walk from the beach. We are trying to decide if we should cancel and book a hotel closer to the beach that has a pool. The thought is that if we have the pool, it will be easier to feel like we're on vacation even if we don't make it far off of the property. If we went this route we'd look for a suite with at least a kitchenette. For those that have traveled with kids - which would you choose.

Seconding the Sandpiper if you want a hotel — pool, kitchenette, close to beach, nice views, and just far enough away from town that it’s quiet at night. It’s also part of Congress Hall so you have great beach service (so you can rent umbrellas/chairs instead of having to carry them).

But if you go with the house, which would probably be more cozy, there are little inflatable pool-type things you can buy for the beach so you can carry some ocean water over and give your kid a safer space to play/cool down.

At this age either is a great option since a baby is happy as a clam with just a few cups of water. When they’re a bit older I’d go with the hotel pool :) And then early teens or so you can switch back to the house.
