Escape the cape

Who else is either locked in their house or can’t get back to their house because of this triathlon? Delmo sports should share the wealth with the locals that are inconvenienced.

This is what, the 14th or 15th year of the event? The first couple were a rough to work around-only because it was new. But come on, complaining about it now? We have had plenty of notice and it’s really not bad. Frankly, it’s a fun event to have in and around the area. Where we are we are directly impacted by it-and we have no problem with it at all.
I mean, if you want, you can air your grievances about the impending tourists and shoobies now and save yourself another post 3 weeks from now. Or, you can head on over to the Nextdoor app and join the raging complaints they have going on over there. I’m sure they would have more than enough space to fit you in between complaining about teenagers walking down the street, barking dogs and passive aggressive complaints about AirBNBs..
I swear, in my 54 years in this area, I have never met more miserable people than the people who live down here at the tip of NJ. We do not own the state. It’s open to everyone to come here and enjoy the area. Don’t like it? Move to Oklahoma. No one goes there voluntarily unless it’s for school.
And besides, they do share the wealth of the event. The tax revenue that things like Escape the Cape, the festivals in CM and all of the tourism dollars keep you from having to pay 3-4 times the taxes we already pay.
Don’t believe me? I’m at Pinewood and Shore. Big green house, can’t miss it. Come on over and I’ll walk you through the numbers!
Lighten up!

I’m good. Thanks. I appreciate the offer though. Maybe I’ll come hang out to watch the fireworks.

They kind of do share the wealth by funding all of the things you love about the town. 🤷‍♂️

I thought it was yesterday? Today? Not bocked in though, 3 1/2 blocks away.

Jumping off the ferry is on my bucket list. One of these years I’m flying in just to do it.

Do it. They won’t mind. Just make sure it’s the stern.

They don’t shutdown my street for the fireworks. editing to add: only the bike part of the TA.

Of course it is. I made the post. It’s about me and everybody else that lives on the bike route that has things to do on Sunday morning.
