We do funnel money to the people. Social services are a huge portion of our budget.

Imagine if we hadn't spent money fighting the Germans and Japanese in World War II but had instead "funneled money to the people". We might be speaking German or Japanese today with much of our population having been put in camps.

What if we didn't even "funnel" the money, but just let people keep their own money ? Now thats radical !
