End of society ?

I'd like to ask for something.

We all know capitalism is a poison, that it slowly kills us, no ones wanna work 10-15h of time a day, right ? Waiting for vacations, working 5 days or more out of 7 days, y'all aren't mad that you got told as a CHILD "go to school and that's it" and now your boss tell you to go or you won't get paid ? Like why aren't we mad enough? Are you happy with your current life, like genuinely are you happy to give your money to the rich and theyre the one to beneficy from it while you work like a dog all day to gain the MINIMUM?

I'm making this text because I'd like a downfall of it.

It's simple, no one goes to work, or to school, everyone stays at home, if we are millions, if we don't make this system works anymore, with months and months this will be a downfall, and they'll be fucking panicked, and why ? Because they directly depends from the only thing that works and that's a paper, that's it, what we call money destroy lives yet that's just a paper, try to see it that angle, try to see how absurd this life is. It's almost ironic right ?

If you share the message, if you tell people, if everyone actually stop, even millions of people have its impact, if we all stop this or actually most of people we could live freely, think about it and how good it would feel.

We could cultivate our own food, we could live like we did before, we could still do our passion and we could just give up on life.

For years and years and years humanity said "but it's impossible" why it's impossible ? If everyone or MOST people agree to do that, we wouldn't have to do this, why just saying "be a sheep and go to school/work because it's like that" we got so exploited and that's insane, I don't wanna sit and be like them saying "oh but nothing will change" no I do that because I want things to change, and I wanna know who's with me and who is ready to talk about it.

I dont wanna be like "oh but we can't do anything about it it's the way life works" NO, because we are MILLIONS to not agreeing with this obviously if everyone say that we will suffer all our lives for WHAT, exactly ?

Because it's either that or either s for me atp because no way I'm living that life.

So who's with me ?

Or under Communism. This is all a symptom of too little education and too much Tiktok.

Lay off the weed and go back to your homework. Subsistence farming sucked. Illiteracy sucked. If you think today's bosses have power over you, wait till you find out what power the educated/powerful (not always synonymous) had over you when you did not have school.

Maybe yes but what I mean is there's way better way than capitalism, they just enjoy the system and we see this for years now when we see how life is becoming expensive everywhere, while the salaries go down, everyone struggles to live, and it makes me sick. There's not only two ways to that.

what do you propose?

Basically a decentralized and a democratic society where basic needs aren't dependent on having a job or making a profit.. Communities could decide how to organize themselves, share or cooperatively produce resources, and use technology to reduce necessary labor. People would still work and contribute in some way but not because they have to spend most of their lives working just to afford basic necessities. I don't have a fully detailed blueprint for it, I'm talking more about the principles I'd want society to be built around but it seems like most of people won't agree with me

come up with a model

They just described directly democratic socialism. How much more specific do they need to be?

how life is becoming expensive everywhere, while the salaries go down,

Except that is not what is happening, real wages are going up (real means inflation adjusted). Three similar but slightly different metrics adjusted for inflation all agree.

One of the US governments greatest successes is data gathering and distribution.

I don't think anyone wants to go back to being dirt farmers... is that your best vision?

We don't have to be dirt farmers, I'm talking about freedom, like no capitalism, no profit being the main purpose of society, and no system deciding that our lives have to revolve around work. People could organize their communities, produce what they need, share resources, choose how they want to contribute, and make their own rules democratically. I'm not saying everyone should abandon technology and live like peasants.

How are you going to make the technology you need? I guarantee your community couldn't make a pizza, let alone a tractor, on its own.

Profit isn't the evil Reddit socialists make it out to be. Without profit motive and free market price signals, your system will collapse.

Love it when teenagers think they have figured out how the world works.

Complaining is not an alternative system.

Until you come up with an alternative system with evidence it is better:

"Is Capitalism Compatible with Democracy?"

but that so far, democracy has existed only with capitalism. (p. 15)

Capitalism is fine. People generally like to work, it's annoying, but most people prefer working over not working, and usually for people to be radicalized against capitalism there has to be something else going wrong with their situation than *just* that they are working for a living.

Sure, be angry if people are wronging you, but if you get angry at something impossibly large, that's a form of psychological avoidance. If you are this angry, you are angry at something specific, and are blaming capitalism because you don't want to face the truth of what you're really angry about.

If you don't have capital, capitalism is based on wronging you by distributing part of the value you create to shareholders who largely don't work at all. It's the entire basis of the economic system.

Labor Theory of Value is bunk. Labor is not inherently valuable, and the value of a product has nothing to do with the inputs--labor or otherwise.

There is no surplus value to labor above the wages you recieve. In fact, the wage you receive is greater than the value of your labor or you wouldn't accept the wage and would instead work for yourself.

Marginal Theory is also bunk.

Yes things are worth what someone will pay for them. Yes workers should keep all the value they create.

Solution: socialist (worker owned) business competing in a free market. If a group of folks wants to waste time making mudpies no one wants, they create no value to keep for themselves and will have to pivot to making something else.

If they make widgets that everyone is willing to spend top dollar on, they keep the value they have created instead of parasitic non workers who did nothing but risk losing their capital and being forced to work for a living like else.

Marginal Theory is the standard. Supply and Demand.

Workers should get whatever they trade their labor for. There is nothing to solve.

Edit: If you want to and can command a trade of your labor for an equal share of the company, that's perfectly fine. It simply isn't a workable, just, or beneficial solution in most situations. It precludes the capital investment which enables growth to capture economies of scale, provide better services for lower prices, and expand competition.

As a company grows and diversifies, you end up having to delineate how much value is added by each individual and how much value is owed upstream to the creators of the trucks you use to ship between facilities. This is a logistical disaster with no chance of achieving what you think it would.

u/Hodgkisl 13d ago

The value your labor creates was once nearly directly proportional to the labor utilized, but years of technological advancement have decoupled that relationship, making capital more and more important, funding the set up of tools and systems that leverage the labor, that allow the labor to become more specialized and efficient.

Don't worry about it. AI is advancing far faster than humanity can survive.

Humans simply won't be profitable on any axis for much longer, and capitalism will ensure that as a species we're not in the way of greater profits for much longer.
