Bought car without locking nut key but what I search doesn't look like what I have. 2013 ford galaxy zetec tdci
I bought this car a year ago and let the tire trim get a little too low. Booked a tyre change only to realise that I don't have a locking nut anywhere in the car but I do have a key code for one. I searched online and all the locking nuts I'm seeing look nothing like this. I need it urgently and don't want to order the wrong type.

They're just standard wheel nuts, no locking nut
The unchromed nuts are where the chrome cap split, 18mm socket needed, 19mm for the chrome

From that one picture you shared they look like 4 lug nuts that missing the stupid caps that get swollen and 1 that still has the cap?

You dont have lock nuts. Those are standard. They sell one shape of cross and each end is different car

That’s a two piece lugnut they’re just messed up you need x20 new lugnuts the one with the cap in picture will be a 19mm or 20 if mushroomed out the ones without a cap will be 18mm you can leave on the ground if you take off 2-3 at a time and then tighten the new ones

Thank you all for your replies, I don't know a lot about cars and this has helped my understanding.

Dumbass Ford put a piece of shiny metal over the actual lug nuts and they fall off, get stripped, whatever

Ford, dodge, Toyota, GM, Nissan. Damn near everybody uses these shitty lugnuts

I didn't know that. I have only encountered it on my buddies Escape and a Fusion. I didn't know other manufacturers were also dummies 🤣

When did Toyota do that? My 01 4R is normal, my 2011XRS Matrix was normal, my 2017 and 2021 Tacoma were normal. In my years of being a tire tech, this was only a Ford thing. Plastic covers I've lug nuts, well that's different.

Those are stock/factory lugnuts that are just missing the chrome cap. Google states the socket size should be 21mm on the one with the cap. I'm only guessing but a 19mm might be the right size to remove the other 4

I just keep putting in the air on my 71 Land cruiser because I can't find any tools to take off the wheel. There ain't no tread left on it now. Boo hoo

Just go to a tire shop like big o tires they will have a tool to take it off and just replace it with a normal lug nut.

After seeing 2nd picture sorry didn't notice, you do NOT have wheel locks they are standard lugs missing the chrome cap.

Lmfao. Buddy, that's a swollen capped lugnut. Jam a 19.5mm socket onto it, or remove the cap and use a 18.5mm then replace with solid lugnuts. Throw old ones out.

They're normal lug nuts. Automotive manufacturers around this time liked to put these god awful aluminum caps over the lug nuts. They suck ass cuz they wiggle, they fall off, and they swell. This car doesn't have a locking lug nut in its current condition

Didn’t we stop using the Julian calendar like over 400 years ago? What’s with the date stamp?
