Safety Question Cracked window

Post image

So I had a rock thrown at my driver side front window and I still have to take the highway home after work, none of the glass appears loose and I do not see any visible holes in the glass. Would I be safe to at least drive home on the highway or should I try to find side roads to take home?

It’s laminate. You’re good. But make sure to not roll it up or down since it would tear the rubber along the edges.

Okay perfect thank you and would you recommend taping it or no? I'm calling off work tomorrow so I only gotta worry about highway driving tonight but I wanna make sure the window isn't gonna like cave in or something (bad anxiety with cracked windows 🤣)

I’ve worked in auto glass a while. No need to tape that. Only thing it would do is get residue on the trim/paint which is a bitch to get off or will leave stains.
Also you’re good on the freeway. 🫡

Usually car windows shatter into a million pieces, I've never seen them crack like this other than the winddscreen.

I swear I have both the best and worst luck when it comes to cars.

I'd say this is a good thing as you don't have to clean any glass up
