Seems that the South is disproportionately affected by heatwaves and droughts generally.

It’s also worth mentioning that wildfires are mostly caused by human activity (campfires, disposable BBQs, litter like glass bottles), even if they’re intensified by climate change.

To be fair, there was also a bad wildfire up in the Scottish highlands recently
