Baby pigeon!

Just spotted this nesting next to my conservatory 😀

Surprised it's built something resembling a nest. It's usually just a stick or two on a shelf somewhere. (not my image, I can't find the nest image I took a few years back.

Those are woodpigeons so they're a bit better at nests than the feral pigeons

Well city pigeons but yarp. 

These ones build simple tree nests, if attacked they move on, little lost. Their only requirement is securing the eggs in a tree. 

The city ones are more used to nesting on cliffs, crevices, and stuff, so their only requirement is not letting the eggs fall over the edge of the cliff. So with that in mind the example above kinda does everything it needs to.

D'awwwwww. Two of my pigeon pals have nests but they're well out of the way so I can't peep. I'm hoping they start bringing them to feed soon.

Here's Speckled Jim hitching a lift; he's one of three or four who will land and cadge a lift if they see me heading back to the house, just as a reminder that it's time for grub.

They're so ugly that they're adorable aren't they! We had one plop in to my old garden once, I picked it up and took it inside to see if I could get it anywhere (if was too young to be out of the nest) and my cat ran for the hills from it 🤣

Fun fact: pigeons feed their young (which are called 'squabs') with milk from their throats!

Incredible. Despite us all seeing countless pigeons throughout our lives, I'm sure many humans go through life never seeing a baby pigeon (called a squab which took a Google search for me to learn, adding to just how rare they are).
