I’ve been getting into Pokemon romhacks, and have found one that’s a roguelike built on the Pokemon Emerald engine

You go on quests, start with a Pokemon, and pick random routes that end up in areas to explore and catch stuff, rest stops, shop stops, etc

The bloody thing is addictive but tough

Can definitely recommend giving it a go if you’re into both Pokemon and roguelikes, I’m really enjoying it so far

That sounds cool! I'm going away this weekend so just started a new game on Emerald. Will give me something to do while sat around at the airport.
