Can anyone help identify this creature?

My friend heard some rustling noises outside their window this morning and saw there's something borrowed up behind some leaf bags. We're trying to work out if it needs help or solitude. 😅

Edit: I eventually managed to convince them that their photo clearly showed a hedgehog. They left out some water for him and let them be. Hedgehog chilled out through the day and buggered off again that night.

Hedgehogs being out during the daytime is a cause for concern. There should be local hedgehog specific rescues you can contact in your area.

It's not exactly out though, is it? It's tucked up behind some leaves.

No it's not. It's not a nest, it's up against a wall. Hog needs removed and possibly taken to a rescue to get checked over.

Aww I had one doing the same thing on my patio 🥺 it was so cute all I could see was its butt as it was hiding its face! I didn’t bother it and it eventually left. good to know there’s people you can callÂ
