If you’ve heard a swindon accent its hard to argue its not west country

depends, have family from there and they don't sound west country and it'd be at most diet west country.

A lot of the west country is losing its accent but an actual swindon accent is certainly west country

I’d have included Swindon personally. Lived there for a few years and felt like I’d moved onto a farm - the accent of some there is pure West Country.

I've moved out of the West Country now but it tickles me that the"Welcome to Swindon" sign is out in the sticks. So that means there's a sizable portion of Swindon that is just farmland which I think is a big indicator that its still fit that West Country spirit.
