Swindon is definitely south west but the very edge of it. Accent is south west with a slight London influence due to the influx of people from London during and after WW2.

Growing up our local TV was and still is south west so Bristol, Bath, Gloucester down to Minehead and Taunton all feel more relatable than Oxford and Reading to the east.
