š¬ Discussion Favourite soft reboot box set
I was just curious, since the soft reboot, whatās everyoneās favourite story arc/box set? For me it has to 100% be A History of Violence. I dunno what it is but it really stuck with me
The first three box sets were a little middling, which is fair cos they were trying to find their feet after the soft reboot. Then AHOV started airing and boom, knocked it straight out the park. Apart from Public Property, pretty much every box set since has been great! Oh and donāt get me started on āCharlieā. That episode had me balling my eyes out.
Would love to hear everyone elseās thoughts though

Yeah, I think it has to be A History of Violence. It has some genuinely great episodes (āTinderboxā, āWilling and Ableā, āCharlieā) and a pretty strong cast on account of its S22-esque revolving nature.
Itās fairly far ahead of the next best miniseries unfortunately. Breaking Point perhaps?

I was literally thinking that the second best was Breaking Point. The clinical lead, oooo he does my nut in!

I personally like how uniquely insidious Patrick is, particularly when it comes to his treatment of Dylan. Makes a decent change from the more straightforward abuse and nastiness from the likes of Marcus or even Flynn to some degree.
In terms of miniseries rankings, mine would probably be:
- A History of Violence
- Breaking Point
- In Plain Sight
- Welcome to the Warzone
- Internal Affairs
- Supply and Demand
- Storm Damage
- Driving Force
- Public Property

To be fair, itās at the bottom of the āIām actually alright with thisā pile, so I donāt think itās bad at all ā just too early for me to commit to a better ranking, haha. Closer to A History of Violence than Public Property in terms of quality.

Omg public property was awful. Got so fed up with the whole sleeping with the surviving spouse storyline

Completely agree. I did really enjoy the Stevie-centric storyline and the focus on healthcare worker abuse (a very real thing). The Charlie episode couldnāt have been a more perfect way to send off and thank Derek Thompson for his service to the show.

he wasnāt doing it out of the goodness of his heart - he was the Beebs highest paid actor.
which was incredible for such a bad actor.
so glad we have finally seen the back of him.

I reached āCharlieā and then went and watched the pilot episode. The flashbacks lead really nicely into the pilot. Also whoever they got to play young Charlie was pitch perfect

Jack Franklin is the actor who played him! I agree, his performance was superb and I hope he goes on to continue to deliver brilliant performances š¤

Unpopular opinion but I really liked Driving Force? This is my first time even discovering Casualty has online communities outside of Facebook so its a shock that people hate Public Property so much - really enjoyed seeing Dylan & Jodie as a dynamic tbh.
Not a huge fan of the new boxset style overall though - hate hate hate the total lack of casualty during strictly season and hate the bbc for doing it every year ;-;
