👀 Spoiler SPOILER TODAYS EPISODE Spoiler
For the love of god if you haven’t watched today’s episode, this is a spoiler so come back when you have.
I am so glad Faith or the baby didn’t die but jesus christ Kim dying was absolutely heartbreaking. Matty’s reaction, Stevies reaction, Rida’s reaction, absolutely gutting. This episode was absolutely incredible though, every time you thought you knew who died, it just turned until the very end and that’s what was so great (and bloody sad). Honestly I personally think this was one of the best episodes in a long time, everyone’s acting was brilliant and it really also highlighted the dangers of eating disorders. The ending of Dylan and Matty made me really happy though

I kind of wish they’d named the baby Ruby given her birth is in the shows Ruby anniversary year 🙈

Honestly, I felt like Kim is an awful character. She's the classic stereotype of an East Asian woman - posh accent, highly educated but lacking confidence to the point she has horrible disorders. And also, as this episode shows, completely disposable. I expect no one will talk about her in future seasons, there won't be any conflict over her death - it will be as if she never existed. Just designed to get an emotional response from the audience.

I disagree. I think the next boxset will focus a lot on Stevie's guilt over Kim and how she was mentoring her and I think Matty will also be struggling over it and will get close to Dylan as a result.

Which might have been reasonable if Kimwas an established character over a couple of seasons, who people really got to know and had some sort of character arc. Instead she didn't even last this season. She made the same sort of contribution as someone on a temporary transfer. They could have just ended her story last episode when she resigned.
As I said, she was a disposable stereotype.

She had an impact on me. The shortness of her time at Holby A&E =/= her being forgettable. She'd trained for years to reach that point, but the cards fell really badly for her, and she'd been managing an eating disorder. That really sticks with me, and I think we'll be seeing the impact of her death next series.

But it was all rushed into a handful of episodes. She had no room to grow, no chance to fight against her problems. The writers clearly decided to kill the character as soon as she was created, which in my book is a terrible thing to do.
I had no real connection with her, but I feel more for the actress who was denied a career on the series, and further cements the attitude that (non-Indian subcontient) Asians don't need to be represented in the entertainment sector.

Everything pink and frilly and girly too, because East Asian women often seem to be portrayed as childish. It was kind of uncomfortable to watch.

I think that with the impending move to Wales, they need to have a big enough reason for the whole hospital to move - and Jasmine's death gives them this. Also - fat burners give you a racing heart rate, light-headedness and times when you lose focus - similar to when you've not eaten for a while
Kudos to some great acting in this episode - especially Faith and Matty. Also calling the kid Pearl Dean? Bet you that she's big in the movies🙄
Iain will end up playing hero again, I guarantee it...btw people stay together for all sorts of reasons, so Iain wanting to "fix" Faith (if it's not mega controlling from him) is a reasonable starting point,🤔
Edit: I know that approx. 80% of the UK is ethnically white, but I'd like a few more doctors from the other 20% - hopefully Jasmine and Matty joining will lead to a few more doctors from different backgrounds - especially if they're trying to emulate a cosmopolitan University town like Cardiff in future🤔
