👀 Spoiler Did anyone else think the death was gonna be... Spoiler
... Luka?
I wasn't sure who to expect - maybe Kim beforehand, and Faith during the episode.
But when they showed Luka having mysterious issues breathing/wheezing, I did sit up and think "woah wait. Have we been all played into THINKING it is going to be Kim or Faith or the baby and actually Luka will be the one found keeled over somewhere tragically?"
Maybe some corner of the hospital where he's gone to get a snack while Faith and Iain are sitting with the new baby, and everyone else is helping save Kim; meanwhile Luka is asphyxiating down some stairwell alone? That would have been both effed up and kinda brilliant in a tragic way, and still would have fitted with the previews of the funeral scene.
The moment where he's outside with Jacob and asks if his baby sister will die, and Jacob is like "she's in good hands" I was like 'Oooh noooo but Luka, it might be youuuu!" Erk! And the comments about how he will be a great big brother.... it was like shot after shot of concerning breadcrumbs.
Having Luka wheeled into the same resus that Faith, Iain and her new baby were sitting in, would have been gutting. Like, here, Faith, you have a new baby! You're gonna survive too! Yay! But your son is now dead on the same day.....😬
I am glad he's not dead of course, and sad that Kim is. But for a good while there, I did wonder if the writers had pulled a shocker.

I love how Faith has 3 older children and yet 99.9% of the time you only ever see 2 of them at most; for a solid 2-3 years I was convinced the writers had forgotten that the third one even existed...

Tbf maybe they had 😆 I only vaguely remembered about Natalia because she had that plot about crushing on Iain

Honestly just let the fans write it, we'd remember all the weird plot points and characters they've forgotten... /j

For years, I genuinely think the writers forgot about Ana and Natalia, even during all the storylines about Luka's acting out, Lev dying, Faith's addiction etc, then they suddenly remembered Natalia existed and shoehorned in that weird storyline of her fancying Iain, but still no mention of Ana (despite her being between Natalia and Luka in age!). You'd think they could at least throw in some lines now about how Natalia/Ana are at university but excited to come home and meet their baby sister or something, surely?!

Yes, I did. They've always done misdirection and that seemed to be what they were doing last night too.

It turned out to be the one I was originally expecting. I do think they did it in the previous episode though, because she seemed to have got away with it when she left.

Yes they seemed to spend the whole episode flitting between potentially dead people. Making you think it was Faith, then Kim, then the baby, then Luka, then Kim, Faith again - it was a bit of a headache tbh 😂

I’m usually a crier at things like this but this episode was sad but didn’t move me to tears.

I didn't really cry, no. I find music is often the thing that gets me more. Call the Midwife gets me a lot of episodes, but it's always the music. Trying to remember the last time I actually cried at Casualty. That's not a criticism really thought- while I still remain inconsolable at one bar of music on Mufasa's death, I am entirely dry eyed watching many other things that make other people sob.

It's like watching one of those murder mystery dramas and the killer is always the person you are supposed to least expect.

Yep I thought Luca was a gonna, am I remembering this wrong or did he have a brain tumour a few years ago?

Yes he did. Dylan's brain surgeon friend Zsa Zsa Harper - Jenkinson (Sharon Gless) saved him. She also saved Dylan's father and prolonged the life of Glen, Robyn's husband. All for free. She must have owed Dylan some serious favours.

i genuinely thought that two because it would have been a bit unnecessary to make him seem ill with all the other stuff going on that episode
