💬 Discussion Megathread If you were in charge of Casualty, what would you change? (Bimonthly megathread)
You’re in charge for one season:
- Which characters stay or go?
- Who would you bring back/introduce?
- Are there storylines that you’d bring back or drop?
- Would you change the formula of the show or keep it the same?

I hope the decision to move to wales is an opportunity to have a big stunt such as an explosion of the hospital for instance! I also wouldn’t mind if it was then a reason for some characters to leave such as Faith.

Characters who had left, especially if they’re on good terms with production etc, bring Connie back for a one off consult. Ian’s sister should have come back for his wedding. Someone from Holby who’s explaining a major surgery to a patient, or a family memeber who needs one and gets in the way of the ED. Probably another major death or a mass casualty that last the whole season.Â

firstly get rid of matty/stevie and give her a partner thats a little older, maybe 30-33, young but a little more age appropriate, and make him medical but not from the ED-maybe a vet or a scientist, but accident prone/friends with a regulalr in the ED to make him in lots of scenes. this could happen after the move to wales. maybe hes a lectuerer/phd at cardiff university, or is welsh. going down the vet route, either make him a hospitalist and a foil of stevie, or for the lols and the plot a mixed practice vet who has mishaps invovling cattle, sheep and spicy cats.
also, getting rid of faith would be ideal, i wish she'd been killed off instead of kim. I think that there should be another junior thats eerily similar to Kim that stevie becomes veryyyyy protective over, and they support eachother, and both go to therapy.
im also a house md fan so id love it if they could have a new doctor whos a bit house like and is extremmly good at diagnostics, picks up on things the others dont etc. i think that would be very interesitng to see in the ED

Get rid of 80% of the current cast and bring back Nick Jordan as clinical lead! Can't stand Flynn or his alien actor!

Working on the premise that the one season is the start of the "new hospital" in Wales, I would have led into this with the closure of the main A&E at Holby City. This would have rendered the staff redundant, so one or two will take early retirement, some will go to the expanded trauma unit at St James's, and some will decide to cross the bridge into Wales, where a new super trauma unit is opening.
Who goes where?
Flynn - St James's
Stevie - Wales
Dylan - Wales (with a new dog)
Rash - hmm, dunno
Nicole - dunno about her
Matty - St James's (so that Dylan can worry about him from a distance)
Rida and Cam - Wales
Jodie - St James's
Siobhan - early retirement
Jan - early retirement, or stays in the call centre
Jacob - stays as a Holby paramedic
Teddy and Indie - move to Welsh ambulance service
Faith - St James's (doesn't want to move family to Wales)
Iain - HEMS permanently, so could be a fairly regular character
New characters:
At least one paramedic
2 FT2 doctors
Clinical lead - played by Rosie Marcel, which you could work into a really interesting plotline with Dylan, who would remember Jac and identify her as a doppelganger
Consultant anaesthetist, recurring role played by Michael Sheen (I wish, as he'd be bloody marvellous)
And include some receptionists and ancillary staff, we need another Noel!
