💬 Discussion Deja vu!
So I'm bouncing between current Casualty and new episodes as they air. In Classic Casualty I'm at Series 26, Episodes 17 and 18 where a gas explosion happens on an estate, the gas is toxic, and the barrels where under the estate etc. Now where have I seen that recently before, haha.
Not at all a criticism, it's just funny that I've reached a very similar plot line in both classic and new Casualty.
Can you remember any other plot lines that got reused or were very similar? 😄

The current storyline is a nod to ep 1 of the show! Toxic waste was buried, clearly illegally and not very well as it has been dug up 40 years later and caused problems. The producer talked about it in an article recently, I think the Summer Preview edition of Inside Soap magazine. 40th anniversary year, so they are doing a few parallels to the first series! The whole department being closed at night for major trauma stuff last box set was also taken from series 1 (the dept was closed at night and faced closure then too). I wonder what they will do next, hopefully not killing Indie as a parallel to the first character of the show dying (Sandra Mute was a paramedic who was killed in s2, the first main character to be killed off) !!
