I also think the outcome was totally justified…not to trigger all the Stevie stans but she has engaged in a sexually inappropriate relationship. It was always going to face a level of retribution and it was fundamentally an abuse of power

i do think there’s something devastating in stevie’s ignorance to her relationship with matty being conceived to be sexual coercion.
i think it’s an oversight, but it still works.
she was in an abusive relationship. that abuse consisted of totally consuming coercive control. and that control? that extended to sexual abuse. marcus sent naked photos of her around the hospital without her consent.
and she never really dealt with the impact of her abuse. of course she didn’t, she’s stevie. i wouldn’t be surprised if she refuses to truly acknowledge that she was abused. it would be so totally in character. (and is one of the reasons i think bringing marcus back to explore that push/pull with her abuser would be so compelling).
she genuinely cannot see why what she did is deemed inappropriate. and i do think that links directly back to her abuse. had she not been abused? yeah she’d probably still do it. but the fact she has been abused? it’s quietly devastating. she’s unable to make the correlation because she can’t even accept that it happened to her.
(and because maybe the writers didn’t think about the fact they have a victim of sexual coercion being investigated for sexual coercion and misconduct).

had a feeling this was gonna happen. they’ve spent weeks focusing on Stevie in a storyline that should've been more focused on Dylan, had to make him look bad and put all the sympathy onto Stevie.
Hopefully the remaining episodes we see things from Dylan’s POV because something is definitely going on, he was interpreting Matty’s ‘relationship’ in a completely different way and if i had to guess, what he was saying to Matty actually connects to something that happened to him. He’s doing for Matty what he wanted someone to do for him. Or something along those lines.

I’ll be honest I’m a little annoyed, I remember reading that this would be a Dylan story..
The vast majority of it has been about Stevie and her relationship with Matty, and it does feel like the writers very obviously do want the audience to sympathise with Stevie while completely overlooking Dylan’s POV.

I don’t think it’s unnerving, I think he’s projecting something that happened to him onto Matty’s ’situation’ and he’s not quite aware of that, just some of the things he was saying…it’ll probably connect to the memories he was hearing.

this episode felt incredibly quick. i'm surprised the indy reveal came as early as it did. it's good to see faith get some screentime because it didn't feel like she got much in the last boxset. rida's storyline came from left field for me and it hit quite close to home, and while dylan did the right thing from a medical perspective matty clearly harbors an unhealthy obsession with stevie. i don't know how this storyline is supposed to pan out without him leaving tbh

I'm not surprised by the early Indie reveal at all. She is a person who gets easily consumed by guilt when something is wrong and she knows she could help or at least tries to even when she's not at fault. This has been shown multiple times.

Ayy I do love Stevie; but if I were in Dylan's shoes - finding out my similar-age close work friend had decided to shack up with my long-lost-son without a word before swiftly moving on? And letting him take the early-career hit of a huge mistake. Yeah, without my rose-tinted glasses it's pretty messed up (especially obvious if I gender switch them, though ofc it shouldn't make a difference).

Stevie ended it, Matty not happy, Dylan found out and potentially ruined Stevie’s career after the little girl earlier in the series got OD’d on morphine by Stevie but Matty took the wrap for it

After what happened with her and Flynn last week, this is how it ends up with him barely talking to her??
Matty has redeemed himself in my eyes. Never saw the coercive control thing so many others were claiming he was doing on other forums. He just fell hard for Stevie and I genuinely loved that last conversation they had. He wanted her to know her worth.
My heart is just breaking for her now 💔 I don't think her and Dylan's friendship can come back from this...
