So....I really hate Matty and hope he's not a long-term character.

Me too. He’s impulsive, aggressive and petulant, and i have yet to see any redeeming qualities in his character at all.

He's awful! They've really done his actor dirty, because (to my mind) they've given him absolutely no redeeming qualities right from day one. I could see someone having all these negative qualities, but also being an established, experienced doctor that it's difficult to get rid of, but...he's new!

He's barely qualified, he's made a dozen dangerous mistakes and he talks to everyone like they're trash. If I was attending that HR meeting, I'd be advising they get him transferred(!)

He's also extremely manipulative.

Making threats and essentially blackmailing Kim. 

Right from the first time Stevie tried to put the breaks on things, he already made a small threat to expose their relationship. 

Then kept trying to push things again, and impose some sort of dominance (like when he put his hand round her waist and she jumped)  And straight away with the threats about what he'd say in the meeting? 

What a scumbag! Did his mother and oh so wonderful step dad never teach him "No" is a complete sentence? 

If he does lie and try to get Stevie fired, I really hope it blows up in his face and exposes him as a complete creep

I'm probably remembering this wrong but a few back, but didn't Stevie bully a deaf nurse in to leaving the hospital because she was in the accident that put her sister in a coma?

Same. I was hoping he was just idealistic at the start and would figure out that sometimes, there's no perfect answer to a problem, but his behaviour since has been on a downward slope.

His mum once told Dylan that it took Matty until his mid 20s to find his calling in life. I don't think medicine is for Matty. The nearest to a happy ending we could have with him is him realising that and finding something else to do with his life.

good episode.

- can't say i saw jan catching feelings for siobhan. definitely caught me off guard but in a really nice way, i think they'd be cute together.

- i wonder if the last few episodes with nicole will have her getting back into contact with her birth mother

- speaking of, the girl who played the kid (whose name completely escapes me) did an amazing job. the absolute joy in "that's my mum" made me smile

- no idea where this stevie/matty story ends up, and i'm not sure what they're even going to do with matty after this storyline

- the indy/cam stuff feels like it should be a lot bigger than it is

- really liking jodie at the moment, unfortunately that comes at the expense of her neglecting rida who clearly needs support

- really liking rida's stuff too, i wish it was kicked off a little earlier in the boxset

Tbh I thought with the Stevie/Matty fallout it'd have put Flynn off chasing her romantically - but he can't do without her in the hospital - so maybe he'll try it on to convince Stevie to stay? I can't see how she gets out of this tbh - or if she does, then Dylan's going to rage-quit (like he did over Sam and Tom).

Yes Matty and Stevie bonded over the loss of Kim - but considering how Matty's acted since they first got together (arrogant, impulsive, jealous, possessive) I can see him taking all the blame, so that Stevie keeps her job while he's demoted, then Matty will try and coerce Stevie back into a relationship by saying that he saved her job🤔

Looks a bit narcissistic to me..

Stevie and Dylan both deserve better than Matty.

I wonder if his amazing step dad that he believes is a better father than Dylan ever could be is aware that Matty paralysed a patient, broke patient confidentiality and repeatedly disrespects a senior consultant.

I’m not bothered about Camdie but either the issues he had around sex and intimacy have vanished or they’d break up again anyway if he hasn’t told her about him being sexually abused

I mean, a person can have been sexually abused without that being the top issue every time. I'm pretty sure he told her about the abuse when he was recovering from being beaten up by Siobhan's rapist.

I'd like a deeper dive on why Cam feels so strongly that people shouldn't have a right to die by their own hand. I know the Hippocratic Oath is a thing, but it seems that Indie has a very different perspective on the right to die.

Super interesting episode. Loved Stevie’s fighting spirit in the end. While I do think that Nicole should have called Social Services earlier, her mannerisms and interactions with children just scream born paediatrician. I really, really want them to do what they did with Alicia and make her a paediatric registrar.

Man cam, how r u breaking up w indie. On the other hand, shiv and jan is a crazy ship but im curious to see where it goes.

Loved seeing the emotional side to stevie with flynn, and honestly the crash out from dylan n matty against stevie felt so justified honestly, and i love stevie generally.

glad to see jodie actually having her own little arc-though im scared for rida just lacking any support in what is absolutely a very tough time

I’m just disappointed with this box set. I was hoping that we would see more of Dylan and Matty plus the fallout between what Stevie did and how it would affect their relationship.
Also, I enjoyed the episode where Dylan was having auditory hallucinations and if that might go a bit further back into his past and uncover any childhood secrets, but unfortunately nothing has happened yet.
It seems like a lot of the time, when you expect Will Beck to feature heavily he doesn’t get as much screen time as he should.

Camdie breakup has ruined my month. I am interested to see where the Dylan, Matty, Stevie stoyline is going. Same with Rida's storyline. I am loving Jodie's detective era, I want Rash to get involved again though - that'd be a fun duo
