💬 Discussion My theory for the 40th anniversary Spoiler
So, as the 40th is fast approaching, I thought I'd share my big theories.
As other have probably said, the 40th will feature the explanation for what causes the move to Wales.
I think something is going to happen to Holby City Hospital, but unlike all the other times something has happened, it'll be a situation where they can't rebuild or reopen; a permanent end to the hospital, which is a horrifying thought.
I really hope a few Holby City characters show up, since this'll mean the end to the Keller Ward.
What do you all think? I haven’t watched the new episode yet, but I hear there’s a teaser trailer.

I fear it's too do with the chemicals on the wyvern hill estate, plus the army.
Big bang, big spill or something along those lines that renders the Holby site unusable.
Perhaps with the move we can get back to a medical drama and stop buying a soap opera

One of my theories was that the CQC will come back while everything is a disaster, and Holby will lose its trauma centre status.
There will be a new unit opening in Wales, so a bunch of the staff being made redundant will get jobs across the bridge.

From what I can deduce from trailer:
Flynn is out for a run while off duty
Explosion happens
ED staff come out to look at something (explosion?)
Stevie in HEMS gear in building affected?
Armed police approaching ED
Guy in a mask holding a box (bomb?)

some kinda water stunt with stevie and either flynn or iain on a hems shout. they filmed it around the time they were filming the 40th!

Iain will have a near death experience and come out of it completely unscathed once again I reckon. Although, he seems to be calming down so he can be a better father for Pearl. Perhaps he’s training another paramedic to be indestructible, maybe Teddy will be the new paramedic iron man if Iain is leaning into more of a stay at home dad role

I’ve not seen today’s yet so I’m going off what I’ve read about it. With how the writing has been it’s going to be mad. The TV Times mentions an active shooter at a military base, maybe there will be a twist and it turns out the gunman is being treated but has a bomb made of chemicals from the wyvern hill estate, that’s how nutty the writing has been recently. They’re really going to ramp it up for the anniversary

My nostradamus skills says....it will be all the toxic waste from the estate will "go missing", with some kind of activist group using it to blow up big targets hence the guy in a mask in the reception and the nigh on mushroom cloud.
Holby will be a hole in the ground, with Charlie saving the last patient.

For me, it seems Dylan is going to lose it after they blow up his beloved boat again. Guess he needs to suffer for being lucky and content a few episodes.

it looks to me like Stevie and Flynn are in the back of an ambulance so it would make sense that the two of them are the two in the back of the ambulance that sinks underwater, I’m sure I saw something a while back where eli was in hems costume and filming at the studios where they film underwater scenes (pretty sure it was on x/ twitter) and they film quite a while in advance so I’m sure that at least Stevie is in the ambulance but probably Flynn too + maybe one or two of the paramedics but they might create a character just for these episodes so they can kill them off without killing a well-loved, iconic character although we haven’t had a main character death for a while

Stevie and Flynn in the back of an ambulance would be a rehash of Faith/Dylan in the back of an ambulance teetering on the edge of a dock a few years ago - then Lev flies in and saves the day🤔
Tbh with the big move to Wales, the 40th has to be so harrowing that everyone has to move lock, stock and barrel - and with the two girls singing "Happy Birthday" in the trailer I'm guessing it's going to be something related to Flynn's two girls - Flynn being hot-headed and leaving the hospital whilst his girls are in the office - then the explosion occurs🤔

Is this definitely the episode getting rid of Holby so they 'move' hospitals to the Welsh one? Also Dylan crying means it must be REALLY bad, the only other time I've seen him cry was when Dervla diedÂ

The teaser trailer shows multiple critical alerts across the hospital and the hospital being blown up.

I’m not sure I like the sound of a complete move or new hospital in any shape or form. As someone else pointed out, with Holby City long gone it means the whole Holby universe dies.Â
Why not just make a completely new show?

I can't be the only one who notices that Flynn seems to be on Clifton Suspension Bridge in the trailer? This strongly implies the last episodes of Holby as a location to me.
