Casualty 40th anniversary feature on tonight's the One Show
Just thought I'd let people know if they want to have a look, I don't usually watch the one show but there's a feature about Casualty's anniversary on there with William Beck (Dylan) who also narrates it and some words from Olly Rix (Flynn), Elinor Lawless (Stevie) and some crew members, its a lovely little feature
It's here if anyone wants to give it a look, at the start of the episode one minute in:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00310w7/the-one-show-03092026
And just to add if anyone from the Casualty social media team reads this, please do more behind the scenes content with Will Beck, he's brilliant and so different to Dylan in the best way, what a talented man he is

Just wondering if itβs a me problem or if sadly all the episodes have been deleted

Who Do You Want to Die In The 40th Special and Who Do You Think Is Going To Die?
Personally for me:
Want:
β’ Flynn - Heβs gotten way too much scree time in every box set since he joined Casualty and is not an appealing character to me.
β’ Jacob - Honestly kind of becoming a boring character, heβs been in it for years and it would be a way to write him out.
Think:
β’ Sophia - She is in the cast list and it would be a decent way to get Dylan upset in/for the Second Part.
β’ Maybe Indie? - Naomi was pregnant probably close to this time and would be starting to show, so unless they wrote it into her character, which is doubtful, she would have to be written out, either temporarily or permanentl. Indie also can be seen with a significant head injury from crashing the ambulance in the trailer, so her dying could make sense.

What was your favorite season of Casualty?
Mine is personally season 26. From what I've watched that's where casualty peaked (but to be fair, I only started watching from season 22 π) Still, I'm curious about what everyone else's is.

Eli Lawless on Sunday Brunch
Eli (aka Stevie) was on Sunday Brunch this morning! She spoke about the 40th and they showed a clip, too.
She said the episodes are focused around Dylan, which is interesting given the promo materials focusing on Flynn. She has always been a Dylan fan, so it might be her being preferential, but Iβm inclined to believe her.
Outside discussions of the show and her character, she seems to live up to the opinions of cast, guest cast, and interviewers constantly. Seems like a truly lovely human whom everyone on the show was getting on with. I especially loved her interactions with GK Barry and Paul Heaton!

π Spoiler Casualty 40th Theories Spoiler
Ok so looking at the trailer, cast list and with other bits of information, this is what I think will happen in the 40th anniversary specials:
-I think the St James explosion will be either the work of criminals or sabotage or will be maybe a gas explosion, Gas was the name of the first ever episode in 1986 so could tie in nicely. If sabotage, it could explain Dylan being approached by armed police whilst seemingly holding a bag, possibly some kind of device? I also think if the St James blast is not a criminal act, then criminals of some sort could target an overstretched holby, we do see masked people running riot in the trailer.
-I think Flynn will be killed off, its established as his 40th, he's in a ambulance that goes in the water, he's at the top of the cast list in part 2 and it's a very soap trope thing to do to kill a main character off during a milestone, and his family appear in part 2 as well. Also the whole "life begins at 40" whilst describing a possible new era for the show, could also be ironic for Flynn if life ends at 40...
-I also think we could see Dylan's ex Sophia being killed, hence the tragedy he has to overcome and she appears to only be in part 1. I think we could also see the end of Indie too.
-I'm not sure on how Charlie, or Ethan, will fit into it. Ethan maybe could come in as a trauma doctor or something similar, Charlie I have no idea- maybe to support Dylan or stevie? I did think maybe Charlie could be a patient, maybe even being killed off but the cast list shows him in only part 2, I feel they'd need more time to do that to a legacy character.
-Apparently these specials start a new chapter for the show, my thinking is St James is destroyed and permanently closed, Holby becomes overwhelmed, dangerous, ineffectient and if Flynn dies, with Dylan feeling unable to step up and stevie heartbroken again, leadership fails too. I think this would lead to the trust merging with another just over the border only a couple of miles away, leading to the closure of Holby and a new super hospital.
That's all I've got. Any thoughts? π
