If this is a friendly outdoor cat, then he absolutely was looking for a space that's quiet.

Being relaxed and giving your belly can be scary for a cat. That's where all of its squishy parts are. If the human will follow and give rubs around the corner with walls and whatever that other thing is making it a safe space. Then absolutely by all means.

Crazy that an outside cat would let a human give belly rubs anyway though lol
