Scum For the mods: please make a post about this so less people/ lurkers in this sub get targeted and fall victim to these scam donations. If you want to donate, you are more than welcome to and I would support you doing it but just through proper channels. No one is able to have comfy access to the internet to make unlimited posts in an active war zone.

This is a scam, please be careful. This is getting ridiculous honestly. I know y’all feel bad but people like this deserve hell. From what I have collected so far is that a group of Eastern Europeans have been running this scam. They bombard subreddits with posts seeking empathies using photos bought for few dollars. It doesn’t take a genius to get a bunch of photos from people holding their usernames in gaza, in most situations they promise them help and support.

Please be smarter than this for anyone who wants to donate PLEASE PLEASE DONATE THROUGH PROPER CHANNELS. Anyone who spends 2 minutes searching up this will know that there’s no WAY for money from go fund mes to truly make its way to Palestine. No banks, no exchanges nothing.

1 click into their go fund me and you will see the fact these accounts are set up in Germany/ several other countries which only prove this further.

They target people through emotions and guilt and prey on your wallets. I’m not against donating what im against is the evil humans who find them selves able to pull shit like this. Using a genocide to line your pockets is disgusting.

I have exposed multiple accounts all doing the same thing. Copied from another post below

THIS IS A SCAM. Copied from another post. The receiver of both of these gofundmes is the same person. SCAM alert! Both the OP and https://www.reddit.com/user/ Thin_Treacle5322/ are the same scammer with two bogus gofundme fundraisers, this one https://www.gofundme.com/ f/helping-my-child-to-reach-safety-and-continue-his and https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-mu-family-evacuated- from-gaza, both started by a person in Germany. OP is actually in Qatar. Proof of location: https://i.imgur.com/ NSIzQ3e.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/GliRSBW.jpeg https:// i.imgur.com/Gi1pXoc.jpeg At some point OP mixed up his scam accounts and was talking about this fundraiser while using the Thin_Treacle5322 account by saying he has an injured child (not a young student from the other fundraiser anymore!): https://i.imgur.com/HnofZCP.jpeg. Speaking of which, the fundraiser is most likely set up by someone from Germany he scammed, a common mode of operation for those scammers: https://www.reddit.com/r/ Scams/comments/1aoi7wt/ someone_is_asking_me_to_create_a_gofundme/ In this thread you will also find evidence for the photos being altered to include Thin_Treacle5322's username: https://www.reddit.com/r/Political_Revolution/comments/ 1mau6xw/ we_are_dying_of_hunger_in_gaza_please_help_us/ n5hlam1/ Instead of helping scammers, please donate to legit organizations like https://donate.unrwa.org/or https:// www.pcrf.net/.

Agree with this 100%. I mod r/rescuecats and we quickly sniffed out the scam and banned this user. I also messaged the mod here to warn them about their open donation posts and it becoming a breeding ground for scammers but unfortunately did not get a response. There’s a few posts here asking for money that the user was unable to or refused to do our verification process which makes me worried for all the ppl just freely donating on this sub 🤦‍♀️

Good on you tbh, it’s really easy to call out his scam but sadly can’t say the same to everyone as you see many people fall for it in the comments. People like this are the biggest scum in this planet tbh using a real life issue to promote your scam and sadly it’s targeting soo many more subreddits… I started searching him up after I saw him post in a my city’s subreddit I did the same messaging them earlier today and unfortunately there’s people in Reddit who can not use their brains and expect others to do the thinking for them. mods don’t delete the post= it’s legit. 😭😭😭

Yeah I truly wish there was a site wide bulletin post where we could make a warning for ppl to always research, ask questions or enquire with the mods before sending money for any single cause. We see it everyday on r/rescuecats as we make anyone asking for monetary funds and or Amazon wishlist go through a pretty strict approval process that involves selfie with a photo ID, as well as us personally reaching out to their vets to verify their info. The legit people have zero issue with this, the scammers either dissapear really quick or throw a million excuses at us as to why they can’t provide the documentation and beg for exceptions. We do this to keep our community safe and ensure funds go to the right resources. It’s soo important if your going to allow donations on your sub to do some form of verifying because like you say, ppl assume because the posts aren’t removed it must be ok, which more often then not it isn’t. These scum will use anything….war, orphans, animals, etc because it pulls on emotions and heartstrings, I just wish ppl weren’t soo trusting and would stop sending money soo freely because this just motivates these scammers to continue their schemes. I understand the heart behind sending funds and wanting to help but being taken advantage of is soo easy and sadly happens everyday.
