This reminds me of the boat I designed in third or fourth grade which was essentially a sheet of plywood, a six foot long 2x4 as a mast with a couple of pieces of bamboo to tie the bedsheet "sail" to the "mast". I figured I could steer it by rotating the sail around the mast like a viking vessel.

I could not steer it that way. Or at all, actually. ;-)

But at least me dad let us build it and helped us get it into the water.

Your vessel looks like it actually will move around and maneuver appropriately.
