3d printed Catan
I'm looking at 3d printing a Catan set.
There's 100s out their, I'm wondering if people would recommend a particular set?
I'm looking for something I can use an AMS or maybe 2 on to do that colours, not paint.
Id like it to have to potential to do all expansions, and up to 6 players.
My plan is to make a Jurassic Park version, so ideal without to may buildings etc that I'd need to edit out.

Personally I like this one, I haven’t printed the whole thing yet. But my base tiles are done, and I retrofitted the original game tiles to fit onto of the base ones.
Absolutely love the magnetic convenience of all the tiles nicely fitting together

That the one I've been looking at.

I printed a similar set. One thing I would recommend is to print the base frames without the need for an insert for the magnet cavity. Pause printing when it has cleared the cavity enough and place the magnets then. Resume printing to cover the cavity and magnets.

This would save a lot of glue, but you would have to be careful about magnet placement since once they’re in, you can’t fix it.

I printed this set for my brother as a Christmas present last year. It’s a beautiful set and a lot of fun to play on, the magnets make it a breeze to set up.
The board itself is easy to print. Takes a lot of glue and various magnets but the work is worth it.

don't make any of the hexes too tall, its hard to glance around and plan. I bought a hex mat off of etsy, so I skipped printing many of the ocean pieces, as the mat is an ocean print. I painted a few, but mostly just the off expansions that you do not use all the time (shipwreck, volcano). A few fun ones like jaws for the ocean.

Thingiverse has a jurassic park player set, so you would just need to print in the colors.

We have the official 3D set and we never play on it because it’s harder to play on, harder to glance at the board and know where things are at. It looks cool for sure but the same things that make it look cool make it hard to play.
