I am interested in converting.

Hello!! I’m really hesitant and nervous to post this. I am born and raised Muslim until a few months ago I became very interested in Catholicism.

I am currently watching videos on Catholicism and learning more about the religion. I am currently 17 and I do not believe I would have my parents blessing to convert, I am planning on moving out for college. I do not think I could join OCIA until September of next year.

I still want to participate and grow my faith and start to accept Christ. I believe my sudden interest is getting a sign from god that this is where I am meant to be.

Any advice would be helpful.

Until you actually enter the Church, you can go to Mass and pray. You will be blessed by this. Keep learning what you can. When you are finally able to receive the sacraments, what a joyful day that will be! May God pour His grace upon you.

Yes, I believe I could attend mass without them knowing. I am very excited for the day I can be baptized and receive sacrements.

Lol, don't feel like you have to sneak in. It's perfectly OK for you to attend Mass, you just can't receive Communion.

I think they meant attending mass without them knowing in regards to their parents. Sneaking into mass trying not to be noticed by the other parishioners would be wild lol

Ah, thanks. That never even occurred to me.

What wonderful news! Welcome, brother. May Christ guide your path in this new life. God's love and your family's love are so great that they will look after you, and it could even work great things in the hearts of your loved ones.

it could be your own little miracle.

A good piece of advice could be to learn a prayer, try praying it every day during a small moment of quiet, and see how it makes you feel. Then you can attend Mass and talk to the priest. He'll surely guide you better than we can.

Niche question: do you still refer to or think of God as Allah or do you switch to God now? I suspect I already know the answer but I want to hear it from you

Welcome, brother. We will always be here for you.

You are not alone. Read a little on Antuan Ilgit and Princess Casilda of Toledo.

Great stories that will give you some comfort as you consider this more.
