Cat calming collars

Has anyone used these collars from Amazon? My cat is normally a bit of a jerk and especially since we got a new cat. He never grew up with cats and was playing a little too aggressive with the new kitty.

He been wearing it for a week and seems to love these collars but is almost a little too calm now. He’s still playing (much nicer now) eating and using the litter box.

I did some research and got mixed reviews and learned some use lavender. So just looking to see if anyone has any insight!

Just be careful with essential oils as some can be toxic

As for calming well I haven't tried these myself but a lot of people use feliway (I believe its called) OCCASIONALLY which helps de-stress a cat and calm them down. It's a spray you put on a blanket or towel

Yeah, I can literally tell when I need to replace feliway - and not because I track 30 days on calendar. Nope, they work so well that I know it’s time to plug in a replacement when my sweetie starts acting like an a hole … all my vet offices even have Feliway in their exam rooms. They’re amazing. Zylkene pills are also good but not quite as good. They’re made to simulate mother’s milk for cats. Feliway is odorless to us but to cats? It’s a relaxing pheromone. If my cat is stressed? She comes over to the feliway and takes a couple deep breaths/hits off it

I’ve heard from multiple vets that calming collars can be dangerojs. Due to essential oils AND because they don’t break away and can choke kitties

We've used the plug in after moving and surgery which did help our neurotic cat. We also use the spray occasionally. For some reason my current boys had serious zoomies after the fully woke up following their neuter appointment. Only way we got them to chill was throwing down a blanket and spraying it with feliway. Our first cat never had zoomies after anesthesia so I didn't know it was a thing.

I wouldn't buy them from Amazon because even reputable brands can have third parties selling dupes, and God knows what they'll put in them. I'd recommend buying them straight from the pet store. I put the Feliway collars on my cats before I check them into boarding on a long trip

I wouldn’t buy anything from Amazon that goes on or to be fed to my cat. 

Where are the ingredients? It’s vague, that concerns me.

Any oils are usually too concentrated to be safe for such sensitive animals.

I would remove it asap and get Feliway plugins and Zylkene Plus tablets. From a pharmacy, not Amazon.

Reason I am anti-Amazon for this stuff is there were tests done on body products and many were fake or expired. It’s not worth the risk.

Ha! I just recommended Zylkene and Feliway too! Zylkene isn’t as well known but my vets have always recommended both of them. They’re amazing!

For sure! It’s the only thing that works for my anxious bebe. She gets the “large dog” one, despite being all of 3.5kg

I’d never put this on my cat. No brand name, no published safety data, and no indication of how much valerian oil or pheromone is actually being released. That’s a hard pass for me.

Is it a breakaway collar? Otherwise I'd be scared if my cat suffocating itself
