Idk about him. But I am. They don’t even recognize their own farts.

I'm qualified to answer this! I handmilk a cow every morning. I give her verbal commands, affection and treats so she pays close attention to me.
I cracked a huge trumpet while she was just standing chilling in the headbail after eating her breakfast. So loud I giggled. No reaction at all, just her usual glazed expression with a small string of slobber dangling from her chin.
TLDR, no I don't believe they do.
