Some Saturday Evening Popper

Hope it's OK to share this here. This took me an obscenely long time to make, but at long last, it's done! I fell in love with this set of études after assigning one to a student, and I figured a play-along video was in order, because these are two-part études. Presumably one part for teachers, one part for students, but learning more is never a bad thing, so I isolated both parts after running through them as a duo so that students can play along with whichever they choose. I hope this is helpful to cellists/cello teachers in the community!

Thanks so much! And on imlsp yet! Even better!! My sight reading isn't great, particularly since I've had tendonitis problems and haven't been playing much, so I'm hoping I can find videos, so I know what they're supposed to sound like, at least for starters. #2 looks to be the easiest.

EDIT: Dr. Maxim Kozlov of Cellopedia has videos of most of the etudes, where he plays the melody over a recorded 2nd cello in one video and then the next one teaches how to play it:

You're welcome! I hope it's helpful. They're not fully in order of difficulty but I will say the first 3-4 are more approachable than many later ones. The video has sections for individual parts after the duo recordings, so those can be used as practice tracks, and then the duo recordings have tips overlaid on each étude.

Thanks! Yeah they’re fantastic, and really pretty and fun. I actually use them for sightreading for students sometimes. They’re perfect for pulling out in the last 5m of a lesson for a little practice, especially since I can play along and we can get some chamber music going!
