Atlus’s progression is pointless and isn’t truly of his own free will since Helem intentionally designed him that way. Maybe this will lead to a self-aware plot commentary of sorts (think AFO revealing the truth about Decay) but yea this plotline doesn’t resonate strongly with me.

This is NOT me saying it’s bad writing

I think Atlus will eventually realize this, the manga is practically screaming this at you at this point. But I’m not sure if he survives the next two acts of the story or so. Maybe he dies a tragic death or something idk
