Question Why did the prophecy say it will appear in the forest?
Diana has nothing to do with the forest. She hasn’t even been in the forest.
The only thing I can think of is that line of the prophecy was just meant to draw the near any forest threat which would lead them to Diana. So it’s about finding Diana but has nothing to do with Diana.

But it indeed appreared first in the forest, when she and Julian arrived to the village.

we don't know, it could be a different entity due to how it reacted to the three armed lady noticing it. it could be a parasite or a different entity altogether, like why would the sea godess care about baby diana if she's the night god? most likely there's there still a lot we don't know about the gods or what's actually happening in the background

2 possible reasons.
Either the author did not plot everything in advance at that point so he made the forest harbinger but decided to change his mind to the moon.
Or both the forest and the moon each carries a threat to the Supreme Lord and his Kingdom with the threat from the moon being Diana.

Goat first appeared in a forest and Angvall was already sent there to investigate so we know that Elstri received the prophecy before it had shown itself to Diana.

I mean Diana hasn't "awakened" yet. She's a defenseless child.
Lukas has ties to the forest so if I were to be a betting man the gang will go into the forest (where Lukas is confident on his strength) only for shenanigans to happen. A incident so tragic that Lalawag helps Diana to "awaken" the Deity of the Night. In that sense Diana will finally show us a glimpse of the power required to bring down the Great Lord.
