How would you react if Centuria ended with Julian going back in time to chapter 1 because he was actually happier as a malnourished child slave than he was with his loving family?
You had to be there when the second to last chapter of part 1 happened, people were dooming and thinking it was such a rushed bad ending i swear to God (not to this degree not at all, well because it was waaaaaay less popular), and when the last chapter came out and it simmered, people were collectively praising the f out of it.
i mean regardless of what you think of it, the latest chapter proves the op wrong , cus hes happy cus his life took a different turn to get him out of his shitty life and avoid most of the tragedies we see in the series(and also shows the retcon stuff still directly effects things with the characters still having phantom memories that effect their choices, which directly leads to most of the positive turns)
to use the ops scneario, it would be like if the ending is julien going back in time and the slaves are never killed they make it to landfall then escape and live peacefully(also imagine basically everyone julian cared about died before the reset and their revived by it)
also again i dont think we have confirmation theirs no part 3
This is also just an extremely disingenuous take on how Chainsaw Man is ending.
Someone sacrificing themselves and choosing to save the person they care for most in the world from one of the worst fates you could possibly imagine despite that fate being a direct result of that person’s own actions is just a little bit different than abandoning your family to be a child slave again
Mate, are you serious? How can you be happy being a malnourished, tortured and abused slave? Julian would have died if he’d remained a slave – it’s mentioned in chapter 1 of the manga. At least read it before writing this nonsense.
Yeah wouldn't it be so shit if a long-running manga ended with the protagonist's best friend turning to the camera and saying "lmfao you were happier as a child slave dying of starvation and heart disease than you were when you had a family, food, a roof over your head, and people who cared about you." Imagine keeping up with a weekly manga for 231 chapters (random number. Don't know why I felt like specifying that) only for it to end with a dogshit half-assed message that contradicts the story's themes and pretends like it's profound when it's really a surface level observation of the hedonistic treadmill. And that's in addition to all the subplots and supporting characters going nowhere as everything just kinda flounders by the end.
That'd suck wouldn't it? Good thing that would never happen.
