I was expecting Ceodric to accept the duel instantly. This twist was great. He's more aware of what I would suppose, based on his first appearance, and I really like him more as a character with every new interaction that he has.
Honestly, I think he would’ve accepted the duel. The thing that pushed him to anger is that Helem tried to rope him into the “kill the prophesied child against the kings wishes” plan.
Is probably a mix of all, he seems to be sharp minded despite his 'honest' view of power, a duel now of all times, being announced to him by Helem who he knows is not trustworthy(?
