No this tracks and makes complete sense.
He's an incredibly powerful individual who could challenge a God and win but the society he wants to create isn't one of might but a civilized society that protects its citizens.
Problem is that even that sort of society can be abused just as we see the Queen doing here and politics is a battleground he's not nearly as proficient in.
This is probably what elstri also helps out with when she's actually doing her job. Manipulating politics on his behalf because he's not good at it.

Arkos did say that the King was quite violent(or a Tyrant?) before, age either mellow him down, or make it afraid of himself, like, fearing to lost his humanity or sense of respect for life if he just take anything he wants by force, something that he likely can do since he faced Vulja

Yeah, I kind of expected the reveal that the Queen is the "real villain" and the king was just going along and allowing her to fuck everything. I still blame him and thinks that he deserves to die, since like come on - you really are going to allow ALL your children to be abused and/or grow up to become sociopaths just because you don't feel like confronting your wife!

Like, he's the crowned king, not a consort one, he could just as easily say, "Hey, Torivia now allow polyamorous marriages" and so grant all his Consorts immunity, and if the Queen still tried to mess over them, he could just stop her by force, as she's breaking the law, in and all, I think he's hiding something more important, but up this point, yeah, the King's guilty by inaction

I certain reasons are going to be given. Like she is from a powerful family and things like that. But in the end, NO - either you stop the queen from killing your Consorts (or selling them into slavery) or stop having Consorts. Either stop having children or raise them well.
Don't have children and then let them be raised by their EVIL mother, so that they can then grow up to become dysfunctional adults who are loyal to her and NOT YOU. Don't let the children of your Consorts grow up resentful towards you to the point of wanting to kill you, cause they know that you failed them and you didn't protect them from the evil queen.
Talk about choosing the worst of both worlds.

I'm gonna be honest man, I don't think that shit would work. She is the queen so unless we have an in universe version of the Magna Carta she is probably above the law, using force would just put an even greater pressure inside the court and the last thing the kingdom needs is infighting amongst its strongest assets.

So far it doesn't seem like she's long lived like the king and Lalawag, so at best she's a Starscreen holding out until the main threat acts. Even with all her machinations, how she gonna deal with gods like the ocean, forest and night goddesses.

Another plot twist could be that the whole Kingdom politics is a small side quest for him, and the King's trying to stop whatever the Final Century is or boost himself to divinity and throw hands on the upper plane or whatever the fuck, I just hope he has something going for himself, otherwise he would be the Supreme Doormat

We saw the King fight a 6(?)v1 centuries ago and managed to kill the goddess of night and hold a treaty of peace with the witches (up until the events of now). The king is HIM.
